How to Order Your Bespoke Hatinator

Ordering a bespoke hatinator is simple and personal — designed to give you a piece that’s made especially for you.

1. Initial Consultation
We’ll begin with a friendly chat (by email, phone, or in person) to discuss your occasion, outfit, colour preferences, and style inspirations. Feel free to share photos or fabric samples — every detail helps me tailor your design.

2. Design & Inspiration
Based on our conversation, I’ll create a design concept for your hatinator. Together, we’ll select the shape, colours, and embellishments until you’re completely happy with the vision. For online consultations I can create a moodpboard with suggestions for materials and photos of your outfit all together.

3. Crafting Your Hatinator
Once the design is confirmed, I’ll handcraft your hatinator using high-quality materials, ensuring both comfort and elegance. This process can take between 1-4 weeks, but I’ll keep you updated every step of the way and we will agree a date once the order is placed.

4. Final Fitting & Delivery
If you’re local, you can try on your hatinator during completion to ensure a perfect fit. Otherwise, your finished piece will be carefully packaged and sent securely to your door, ready to wear for your special event.

Your hatinator will arrive safely presented, designed to complement your style and occasion effortlessly.

Fiona’s Bespoke Experience

Initial Consultation

• When Fiona first got in touch, her dress was still being made. She reached out to start the conversation early as she had a few ideas around the style she imagined.

• I created a moodboard around her first inspirations, and from there we experimented.

Studio Visit

• Fiona then came to me, bringing fabric samples to the studio so we could perfectly colour-match her hatinator. Together we tried different bases, colours, feathers, and embellishments until she found the look she loved. 

• ​It was the larger, pointed hatinator shape that really caught Fiona's eye when she tried it on in the blue and made her 'feel the part' and ready for her son's wedding.

​

• The final piece featured a hand-crafted ivory sinamay bow, embellished with crystals for a touch of sparkle, and finished with a spray of ivory and pale blue feathers. When it all came together, the result was elegant, balanced, and beautifully in harmony with her bespoke dress.

​

• The hat was sent to Kate Walker Bridal who makes bespoke dresses for mother of the bride or groom, where Fiona was able to collect her dress and hat and try on everything together. 

 

• Fiona has her own little Hey Jules Jewellery Collection, and on the day she rocked her sparkly earrings — a design created especially for her — with her outfit. They added just the right amount of sparkle for the occasion.

Marie's Bespoke 'Online' Experience

• So often, the first thing I hear is, ‘I don’t do hats…’ — and this mother of the bride Marie began our conversation in exactly the same way.

​

• She shared photos of her dress and explained what she was looking for, but was worried an off the peg fascinator wouldn’t feel right for her. She was insured by the size and shape of now of my listed designs.

​

• To help, I put together a moodboard with her dress and a selection of materials. From there, we designed a soft and flattering fascinator in sage green and pale pink.

• Once the piece was finished, I sent photos to Marie to make sure she was 100% happy with the design before carefully packaging it up and posting it to her.
